Beautiful home full of historical items that you can see for free. To walk the grounds, you have to register and pay a small fee but totally worth it. Lovely place for an easy hike!
Tucked out along the Rio Grande River, on the STILL United States side of a border wall. The first of many sites is the Rabb Plantation house. The two story Victorian house, built in the LATE 1800S, is the visitor center for the sanctuary. …
I love historical places.
The history, plantation and grounds are very cool.
Staff were very friendly and informative.
I enjoyed it.
This place is so gorgeous. I can't believe it's located here in Brownsville. Really gives off jungle vibes. The trails are easy to navigate, and the scenery is breathe taking. There is an entry fee, and in case you run out of water, they …

We only got to do one trail that was about .25 miles. It's very pretty there and has easy to walk trails. The house is very nice as well with nice antiques inside. Even a nice fresco that dates back about 100 years. …
Visited in August. Enjoyed all the nature and the few trails we walked. Walked to the Rio Grande River lookout. Nice place to visit.
An amazing forgotten remnant of rare palm tree forest on the Mexican border. It really feels like the tropics! The mansion is stunning too. What a cool piece of history and ecology.
